Getting started woodworking kits
To get started building wood projects I want to put together a kit
I want to use wood and hardware to build wood projects
With one kit the plan is to see if we can build a number of projects by changing the designs but using the same basic parts and materials
For example in one kit we can use
1×1 inch wood
And hardware used for building furniture
A list of hardware we have for a kit is
1- barrel nuts
Nuts
¼ thread rods and screws
¼ wingnuts
Wood inserts
Washers
Using this wood and hardware list our plan is to see how many different projects we can make
Wood
The 1×1 inch wood we have is something we can find at Home Depot or Lowe’s
It’s precut to square so this helps out since we don’t have any tools to plane wood
The ¾ square size makes it easy to start building projects a little faster
Hardware
We have some hardware we got from home stores and ordered online
Tools
For tools we are using a basic set of hand tools
With hand tools we can keep down dust
Our plan is to try and build projects with modern woodworking hand hand tools
